INDUSTRY: DATA FOR PHYSICAL SPACES
Numina collects data in physical spaces in a mission to make urban streets safe for bicycles and pedestrians. They use a high-tech artificial intelligence sensor to survey busy street intersections with reliable, efficient and affordable data making city planning easier and more beneficial to its citizens.
My role was to create a brand and visual language that brought forward Numina's cutting edge technology, their strong and grounded convistions, and that best suited their audience: city planners and government officials.
The Numina logo borrows from both simple, familiar and bold aspects of behavior and patterns from our city steets -- such as the solid pedestrian crosswalk and our nation's cityscapes. I wanted to bring some reminiscing feelings from Early Modern Architecture, where simple lines create the most impact.
Our logo represents both the simple, familiar and bold aspects of behavior and patterns from our city streets.
One place we wanted to use colors was with iconography. Here we use color intentionally to visually show what color and icon represent a bicycles, pedestrians, wheelchairs, etc.
